Bronze. Roman copy of Greek original of the 4th century BC from the school of Lysippos. Inv. No. 5626. Naples, National Archaeological Museum.

That's 4th century BC.  Genius then as good or better than now

Kinda creepy.

Via Never Yet Melted, with a hat tip to American Digest.

  1. Genius doesn't know a calendar. Young people don't understand that, but the more sand is out of the hour glass, the more clearly you see through it.

  2. The scale/portion is so well done. The eyes appear odd, possibly because there is no reflected light in the pupils?
