And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Trey Gowdy shows no mercy to a dissembling head of the Secret Service, Julia Pierson
Here's a true story about backfires. I'm an older guy. Caddied when I was young. Did a lot of it. North of Chicago. So, I was about 14 and caddying for a couple old guys (double loop) who seemed like they were in their 70s. Caddy rumors were these guys were old gangsters. They way they walked, talked, and acted was old school tough, so I believed it. No Hollywood actor could capture the mannerisms of these guys. (Closest I've seen was the old patriarch guy in the fancy office from Reservoir Dogs - but these guys weren't pussies.) They were works of art and, at 14, I thought it was the coolest loop ever. (Private club - these guys were guests) So, we're on the 14th hole, which has a tee box near a busy road, but it is blocked by bushes. A truck starts backfiring on the road and two of these old geezers hit the deck. It was an automatic reaction. Funniest damn thing I ever saw. Decent tip. Great memories.
Trey has become my new hero!
