Probably more greenhouse gas in this picture than produced by all the cars in the state for ten years.

The massive plume of smoke produced by the out-of-control King fire burning in Northern California is roughly the length of Illinois, Colorado and several East Coast states, weather officials said Thursday.

The National Weather Service released this satellite image of the smoke plume from the fire on Thursday

    1. The damn thing is burning virtually in my backyard ( though no actual threat to me - I'm down in the flats).

    2. We had a few days where the smoke from the fires up in BC actually affected us here in the Northeast

  2. Volcanoes and wild fires account for vast greenhouse gas, but since the green lobby can't do anything about it, they pick on the "low hanging fruit".

    The fire concerning.

    1. I'm headed back to NW Nevada in a week. Please have the fire out and the smoke cleared by then. Thank you.
