Cold Fury has an excellent post up about the partisanship and rank dishonesty of the latest Washington Post/ ABC News poll. 

In a nutshell, they have purposely skewed the sample to make their hero Obama look far more competitive than he really is in the next election.

This sort of purposeful distortion of the record is exactly what we can come to expect in the next year as the media tries their hardest to help re elect a president that shares their values (and I use the term "values" very loosely here.)

It will be our job as the election gets nearer to help those around us who are asleep to this to wake up and become aware.  Although as individuals our impact on this process is minimal, we can work together to bring the general awareness of this kind of falseness up to speed, and in that way we can indeed make a difference.
