A rather depressing but unfortunately very likely true article from Donald Sensing that posits that, in large part, the 47% has now gained a permanent majority in national politics, and that that means the irreversible decline and destruction of everything that America stands for.

In considering his thoughts, one must remember that every historical democracy where the franchise is extended too far eventually collapses, because there are always more takers, as they are termed, than makers, and the takers can eventually vote themselves the wealth of the makers. It'a a tyranny of the 47%, and those that would create more of them and pander politically to them.
At some point the makers revolt, reestablish control, and, having learned their lesson, establish a far more restrictive government.
The only other option is total collapse, as at a certain point a huge percentage of the population has become a taker, and cannot function in an environment that doesn't provide for their every want, and the government cannot loot the populace enough to satisfy the hordes. Then it is rule by warlord.
This is what the current administration is preparing for when they establish a militarized police and homeland security.
This is why they want to control your healthcare through Obamacare. It's hard to revolt against the government that knows everything about you and controls your access to medicine.
It's why they will continue to try to take away your right to own guns.
It's why they have established a bureaucracy to keep track of every possible electronic act you take. The internet is their friend!
It's why they want to flood the country with Mexicans. More government dependents who will reliably vote democratic, and create a permanent minority out of the former natives. To those that hate America and what it stands for, however, that's a feature, and believe me they will enjoy watching it happen.
I guess that the only thing to do is look far down the road, and prepare accordingly, if you believe it is true that we are that far gone.

An NSA whistleblower says that agency is being used by the Obama administration to terrorize and blackmail government and military officials.

For example, after the former head of the NSA’s digital spying program – William Binney – disclosed the fact that the U.S. was spying on everyone in the U.S. and storing the data forever, and that the U.S. was quickly becoming a totalitarian state, the Feds tried to scare him into shutting up:
[Numerous] FBI officers held a gun to Binney’s head as he stepped naked from the shower. He watched with his wife and youngest son as the FBI ransacked their home. Later Binney was separated from the rest of his family, and FBI officials pressured him to implicate one of the other complainants in criminal activity. During the raid, Binney attempted to report to FBI officials the crimes he had witnessed at NSA, in particular the NSA’s violation of the constitutional rights of all Americans. However, the FBI wasn’t interested in these disclosures. Instead, FBI officials seized Binney’s private computer, which to this day has not been returned despite the fact that he has not been charged with a crime.

Today Obama has been caught in yet another significant lie.
He claims that the NSA does not collect data on Americans without a warrant. In fact, the British papers report the opposite.

They detail the procedures the NSA is required to follow to target "non-US persons" under its foreign intelligence powers and what the agency does to minimize data collected on US citizens and residents in the course of that surveillance.
The documents show that even under authorities governing the collection of foreign intelligence from foreign targets, US communications can still be collected, retained and used."
After this administration sold guns to Mexican drug lords, weaponized the IRS and used it to suppress their political opponents, and lied to our faces over what really happened in Benghazi, there is no way we can believe anything that they say. Today's revelation is just another example.
Chris Matthews thought that the admittedly poor performance of President Obama in Germany was the result of his inability to read his teleprompter due to glare, but the Telegraph (leave it to the Brits to accurately call it) has it right:

Obama’s distinctly unimpressive speech in Berlin was another dud from a floundering president whose leadership abroad is just as weak as it is at home."
