And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
You must never have been a ten year old boy. A guy moved in across the street when I was ten and not only did he have a monstrer truck with 48" tyres, but also a SuperBird.
As a kid, I saw a purple Superbird and a racy hot pink Duster both front and center in a dealer’s lot. They were there a long time. Dunno if the cars were slow movers or if dealer hung on to them to draw in customers. Either way, to my young eyes they looked like Hot Wheels come to life!
Even then tho, the Superbird’s wing and the front end clip-on were just plain ugly.
Superbird was the name at the time. Road runners were different bodies w/o wing and nose. Road runners of that era did have a cute horn trying to sound like the cartoon character.
I used to have a Mopar shirt like hers though the way she fills it out is far superior to the way I did. There was a guy at Thunder Valley Dragstrip new Marion South Dakota who drag raced a Dodge Daytona back in the 70's. I would have never forgave him if he wrecked it and I wonder what ever became of that car.
I always thought that the Road Runner was a silly looking car.
