Two Atsina (Gros Ventre) men pose wearing leggings - Capt Badger - 1872
The guy on the left is holding a better rifle than Custer's men had at the Little Big Horn. It's either a Henry repeating rifle or an 1866 Golden Boy Winchester. Both weapons were great for the kind of close combat that ended Custer's career.
