And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I was there in 2010. Very pretty town that got left alone during WWII because there was basically nothing there. I did drink a beer in the "Lowest level of hell". (The bar is named Hel.) The Lutheran Cathedral has a relic called the "Blutaltar" that supposedly has a drop of Christ's blood between two crystals of quartz.
I look at buildings like that and always wonder how the hell they shingle and cap a roof like that. Amazing workmanship.
