And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Saw a video somewhere recently, that had blokes shaving their beards off and surprising their partners and kids. All of a sudden you realise WHY they grew the beards ... weak chins, no chins, gormless looks. I had a short goatee thing going on, so straight away I went and shaved it off. Luckily I am good looking even without it ... but most are not. So, now you know, like heavy make up of a woman, beards are hiding the shocking truth about the people underneath. Go clean shaven.
Few years ago on a whim I let mine grow for a year with only occasional trimming around the edges. It was harsh. What a mess. Every time I took a drink or a bite of food the instant mess started all over again. Loose hairs on my shirt, on my plate. Wind blowing it around, up in my mouth. blechhhh
I've had full facial hair since 1978 when I got out of the army but it never gets more than an inch or so long. I could never be in the ZZ Top band...
Several years ago, worked with a guy that sported long hair, past the shoulder, and a full beard nearly to his waist. Had a resemblance to Osama bin Laden. Had the long hair and beard for 20 years or more. He was a widower, and after some time, decided to try online dating. Wasn't getting a lot of interest due to the ZZ Top look. One day, he shows up with a close cropped haircut and a clean shave. Walks into work, and asks the ops crew about an issue that occurred over the weekend. Nobody recognized him, so they answered his questions, then called back to the maintenance shop, saying "Hey, there is some guy out here asking questions. We have never seen him before, he just came in and asked about the problem this weekend. Acted like he works here or something" Hilarity ensued when folks realize who he was. Turns out he did work here, and they had worked with him for years.

Turn off the lights in the bathroom, look into the mirror, say "ZZ Top, uh-huh-huh-huh, uh-bang-bang-bang" 3 times, and he appears.
ReplyDeleteEarlier today people were ragging on the Ladies for having big Glasses.
ReplyDeleteZZ Top Vibe.
ReplyDeleteThe beard, I could take or leave but the super long mustache is too cool. Mine will not go past the corners of my mouth.
