  1. Yeah, but it's a Ruger, not a Colt.

    1. Yep, that's what is so good about it. Colts sold out and most can't afford a good old one

    1. In an emergency it's already loaded. It's the reload that can be a tad slow.

    2. Elmer Keith told the story of an old gunfighter he knew when he was a kid. He asked the old guy about the practice of carrying the single action Colt with hammer down on an empty chamber, and was this a disadvantage in a fight. The old guy said you could always load one more if expecting trouble, but that after killing five men, there would probably be enough time to reload.

  4. I like the Ruger Blackhawks. Great guns. I have them in .357, .41MAG, .30Carbine, .45LC and .44MAG. All perfect for home defense. -snakepit

  5. had a 357 Blackhawk until my divorce. anyway, very accurate weapon. killed a lot of coyotes with it. got 7 bucks each for them. 9 if you skinned them.
back in the 1980's when most people thought of them as a pest to get rid of.
toyed with the idea of getting another one. not sure anymore as I really don't "need" it.

  6. Great shooting iron. Like one in .44 mag or .454 Cassel.
