And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

ReplyDeleteIt can be found at Hastalska Street 6 in the Old Town (Staré Město) district of Prague.
The door and the apartment building it belongs to were built in 1900.
It was designed by the Austrian-born Czech architect Osvald Polívka, possibly in collaboration with Václav Havel.
The design showcases typical Art Nouveau elements, including the vibrant sunflower motifs and the ornate stained-glass fanlight above the door.
