And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Tool chest for maintaining a Swedish radar station
After installing a radar or satellite sit I would leave a complete set of tools for the maintenance operators. I would stop by a year after going operational and a quarter of the tools would be missing.
I made 6” long offset torque adapters for my crew to access some very difficult terminals. Within a month, they were lost. “Free” tools have no value in many people’s eyes. fjf0351
Whoever has my '87 S-10 pickup has a nice selection of 10mm sockets in the belly pan under the engine, including a 12point Craftsman flex. I should have left the EGR valve alone.
working a "tool crib" whenever ordering new tools is if it looks especially useful, custom is "order one for the shop - one for the operator." Include one for supervisor if it's especially useful.
I’ve got some gaffer tape that’s pretty useful, and 3M makes some specialty tape, that I have purchased, that is reputed to being very similar to EB Green. Regular duct tape is pretty useless.
That big Monkey Wrench fixes 90% of Radar System Problems - providing that the Tech knows where to Hit it... I've been a Jet Mechanic for 45 Years, and have several 'old' wrenches like that.
IKEA approved?

ReplyDeleteGood shops have to checkout policy and each operator is supposed to leave a chit when taking a tool. Of course, even then tools disappear.
