And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
well, yeah. but there are a few things you might want to have done before you do something as stupid as that. one, check that all of the vent tubes/breathers on front and rear axle are ducted to the "breather tube". and make sure the gas thank vent is as well. then there is the small problem of the exhaust pipe, that better be a high as the intake if you want the car/truck/SUV to get OUT of the water. seen too many rear and front ends ruined by water after a stunt like above. they are warm/hot. water comes in. water helps blow out the seals and your axle is on it way to junk. and do not forget the one on the transmission water is not good for them as well.
You beat me to it. People who lift vehicles just for show seldom think about axle breathers or any of the other vent lines and it's not even very expensive to buy or install them.
my buddy had a shop that made a lot of bucks helping morons out AFTER they did some dumb shit like above. funny thing was the parts where the smallest part of the bill. and one time he told me that just installing the parts NEEDED to stupid stuff like above was under 200 bucks with labor ! granted that was close to 25 years ago now, but I don't think the price went up that much.
The image captures a moment from the Camel Trophy, an iconic and demanding off-road adventure competition that ran from 1980 to 2000.
The event pushed competitors and specially modified Land Rover vehicles to their limits through some of the world's most challenging terrains, including the Amazon rainforest and Borneo swamps.
Teams from around the globe participated in the annual event, which emphasized teamwork, vehicle durability, and the spirit of adventure.
The Land Rover models used, such as the Defender and Discovery, have become synonymous with the event's rugged and adventurous image.
The competition is widely regarded as one of the toughest off-road challenges ever created, known for its unique aesthetics and the extreme environments it featured.
