And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Open the link I posted below. I think you'll find it interesting. You can own a new S&W revolver without an internal lock. Nice. The price is pretty fair, too.
My first carry piece. Bit big, but back in early 80's hardly any citizen carried. Always felt well armed with hand loaded hot wadcutters. Love the smell of revolver smoke. So intense. Like one in 7072 aluminum alloy, three inch severely tapered barrel, no front sight, with a gutter sight instead. They point so well almost don't need a sight on one.
The grips on that Model 10 are "high-grade Tyler Gun Works walnut grips", according to the article whose link I provided above. Your Combat Masterpiece probably had S&W Target grips, my personal favorite.
The .38 was my duty weapon in USAF and later as a patrolman in the 1970’s and early 1980’s. The world is a very different place today.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a model 10 bull barrel.
ReplyDeleteModel 10 - probably. But I don't think bull barrel. Standard barrel contour.
DeleteThat is an old revolver - I wish I owned it !!

ReplyDeleteIs that a left handed holster?
ReplyDeleteI carried the S&W Combat Masterpiece as a Security Police Dog Handler in the early 70s. It looks similar but the grips are different.

Not that old, the 38 Special + P has only been around since the mid '70s. The 357 Magnum is 90 years old.
