And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I’m thinking that I’d need to have a gardener or two. And if I had gardeners I’d need a few house keepers and a cook. And if I had those I’d need a chauffeur and probably a pilot and a boat captain. I have a wife so that’s not happening 🤣
Sadly, boxwoods and other evergreen bushes that are typically used for this type of ornamentation and "sculpture" never stay nice looking forever. One or more plants inevitably dies, or major sections, or they grow out so far that annual trimming leaves bare patches, etc...ultimately leading to major replacements and things just not looking perfect for a while. Still a very nice presentation.

ReplyDeleteThat is a ton of work.
ReplyDeleteIt is certainly a stunning entrance. I am very happy not to be a grounds keeper!
ReplyDeleteSliding down that long bannister might put a happy smile of some lady's faces
