  2. Yes, it is the Concorde as found in Sinsheim, Germany. Mounted on poles so, I’m guessing the “afterburner” is some well placed lighting inside the exhaust. Still an Everest type pinnacle of aviation as far as I’m concerned. I know there have been plans for beyond Mach 1 civilian airplanes floating around for some time but one wonders if we’ll ever see anything like it again.

    1. It happens that last night I watched the episode on the crash of the Concorde (and I spelled it that way but my tablet removed the 'e') in Paris.
      Tragic, one small piece of engine debris destroyed that amazing plane and killed over a hundred people.
      Interesting fact; Barnes Wallis (of Dambuster fame) worked on the Sopwith Camel and finally The Concorde.
