And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Had a wood column on my front porch that was full. Had a beekeeper to come and take them. He said he was taking most of the hives to Florida because of severe shortages there. Bubbarust
I think I was five years old when Dad and my Uncle Alfred took down a big old hollow cottonwood that turned out to have a huge hive in it. Dad sent me running to the house for some pans and a ladle. Mom was raised with beehive so she knew what to do with the hive. Don't remember any more than watching Dad dig out the hive but that left a memory and I could still walk to where the tree used to stand in the grove.
