And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Hmmm...cannon in 'full cry', but there's no trace of recoil? Those big dawgs come slammin' back immediately, Heaven help you if you're in the way. Someone's house off to the right, might there be a concern someone may be downrange? Even if they loaded powder and wadding to make a 'blank', I'd not be firing *anywhere* near the possibility of people about. Even if that's just a salute. Alan E.
10lbs of black powder. Got a hold of drops of schedule 100 stainless pipe, me and my friend welded a plug on one end, trunnions for a recoiling timber bed, the ID was perfect fit for a Bud tall can filled with cement. Oh, what we then destroyed. Really had to be careful where we aimed, had serious range, couple miles, might been more capable but you got to keep some things reasonable, that plug was the main concern, and cannon fuse is a right handy bit of kit.
bung hole
