Extraordinary Entrance

  1. The image shows the ornate entrance of the Lavirotte Building, an apartment building located at 29 Avenue Rapp in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, France.

It is a well-known example of Art Nouveau architecture, designed by the architect Jules Lavirotte and built between 1899 and 1901.

The facade is lavishly decorated with sculptures, ceramic tiles, and a dreamlike quality that was initially scandalous to Parisians.

The building won a municipal competition for the best facade in 1901.

It is located near the Eiffel Tower and is a popular spot for architecture enthusiasts.

  2. Yup, it screams turn of the 19th century French. I appreciate the style and beauty. However, only in very small doses.
