And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
As far as I can tell, there was no Car 5 in the 1946 Marseille GP, but this looks like an Alfa Romeo 8C body, in any case. There were only 7 finishers out of 12 starters. There were a bunch of cars that did not qualify and a bunch of others not meeting starters orders. It’s interesting how Formula One evolved over the decades. The races in the late 40s were similar to pre-war GP, but starting in the 1950s it became dominated by rich teams, especially factory teams.
