  1. As far as I can tell, there was no Car 5 in the 1946 Marseille GP, but this looks like an Alfa Romeo 8C body, in any case. There were only 7 finishers out of 12 starters. There were a bunch of cars that did not qualify and a bunch of others not meeting starters orders. It’s interesting how Formula One evolved over the decades. The races in the late 40s were similar to pre-war GP, but starting in the 1950s it became dominated by rich teams, especially factory teams.
