The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? I've been told numerous times that I was lucky to retain my sight in my right eye after having a nail strike it and needing eight stitches and losing part of the iris. I told them if I was lucky, the nail would have missed me. Same with this dude.
