    1. I've been told numerous times that I was lucky to retain my sight in my right eye after having a nail strike it and needing eight stitches and losing part of the iris. I told them if I was lucky, the nail would have missed me. Same with this dude.

  8. Yes. I was unlucky that I was standing on my deck on the spot the tree hit.
    I was lucky that I glanced over in time to see it coming.

    No conscious thought processes were involved in that next moment. I was standing five feet away before the thought impinged "That tree is falling".
