And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Damn, twenty years ago I experienced exactly this (although on skis not snowboard) on a night run in Zermatt! That was one of the most memorable experiences I've ever had - I was still young enough to savor it! Now I'm an old fart with knees that pop like popcorn whenever I get out of the bed! The last time I was on skis was six years ago, and at the end of the day I thought I was going to have a stroke...
