And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The grille indicates 1970 as the model year. I bought a 1972 Custom/10 when it was already over 12 years old. It was indeed a great daily driver for 5 more years until sold.
Meh. I never got the thrill from riding in a rough noisy truck with uncomfortable seats, listening to an AM radio over the roar coming from the open windows while you eat dust and gas fumes sweating your ass off.... I especially wouldn't want to do it every day in traffic.
I liked my '69 until I tried going down Old Priest grade late one night with it loaded with musical equipment. Found out it had drum brakes on all four tires. Managed to bring it to a stop and back all the way up to Priest Station, sit for awhile and then go down the new grade.
Who? A Ford pickup fan that's who!
ReplyDeleteJust like daddy’s truck. Except for the mags, of course.
ReplyDeleteNeeds some rust…

49er Badger
I HAVE commuted in a truck like that. Straight 6, 3 on the tree, wing winda's am radio.
ReplyDeleteLoved my old 72, but not enough leg room for a tall guy.
ReplyDeleteGood looking truck. Have a few miles in one several decades ago. Good truck.

ReplyDeleteI commuted in one just like this in the 80’s in Phoenix and later San Diego - a 71 with a 400 small block with cherry bomb exhaust. Very fun!
