  1. I feel so lucky. When I retired in 2010, I put my several wristwatches in the dresser and have not looked at them again. If I need to tell the time, I either look at the microwave, the clock on the stove or the schoolhouse clock over the kitchen sink. If I am away from home, I just look at my cellphone.

    1. With this watch, John, it isn't about telling time. Same reason people buy a Bentley or BMW when a Kia will get you there just as well.

  3. 780,000 Swiss Francs = 2,533.08 ounces of gold (based on the current price of 3,285.17 Swiss Francs per ounce).

This calculation is based on the latest available gold prices

Wow, I expect such a watch buyer has bodyguards.

  4. My, "it takes a licking and keeps on ticking", Timex back in the 1970s cost $15 and it tells the time.

  6. I would not trust that it's manufactured in Switzerland.
It was recently reveled that Rolex is a Chinese product.

    1. I would agree, for me. But willing buyer, willing seller, it's their opinions that count in the end.

I just would be ... incentivised ... to try to find a way around the VAT, sales, or other tax burden on the purchase.
