    1. 380 it is. Notice two engines on the left wing.

  3. Back in 2010-2012 I traveled to DC every other week through the Dulles airport. During that time frame Air France flew 380s into there. I had a habit of walking the concourse just to get some exercise and I would linger around the gate area when a 380 was parked there. I knew they were huge, but seeing one that close was amazing. I’ve flown on 747s many many times, but a 380 seems so much larger, and it is.

    1. Done a couple of 8-9 hour legs on A380's. Lots of tech to play with but somehow feels claustrophobic and cluttered compared to a B747 The A350 I got once was far nicer to fly in. I'm a cheap seats flyer by the way.

  4. An unsettling feature of the plane is that the wings droop at rest. When seated on the lower deck midship you can’t see more then a 1/4 of the wing and it looks as if that stubby appendage will never get you airborne.

    1. Worked in the JFK weld/repair shop, heard a lot of aircraft lore, give you a reference regards wing lift, the 747 produces over 167,000lbs of lift at take off, they carry aside cargo/passengers, full tanks, 65,000+lbs jet fuel. Stand under that beast and it bakes your noodle somebody's designed and built these thing's, incredible achievement of western civilization.
