And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
While I think that the Leatherman, and it's derivatives, are very handy, for me in my daily life, I just wouldn't use a full- or mid-sized multi-tool often enough to justify carrying the weight. I do keep a small Leatherman (forget the model) on my keyring, but I barely even use that.
I've been carrying the Gerber Armbar for a while, and lsst weekend added a change purse with different bits. If your daily routine requires a lot of fiddling with screws, this is a good combination of EDC. I occasionally need flashlight (but when needed is desperation) and the knife I carry is usually a SAK with scissors.
All these comments over the years about Leatherman EDC (and it's competitors, etc.). No shade, but, . . . the majority of the time, . . . are you really that far away from your vehicle (so that you can go to your car and get the more useful and appropriate tool that you need)?
I've several very nice folding knives, but my favorite is the Spyderco identical to the one shown: when you absolutely, positively have to find your knife on floor or ground yellow is your pal.
good choice but i would have added one other item.
ReplyDeleteAt least, a small Keltec or S&W, or PPK .380.
