  1. Fully articulated.. articulating? main rotor head.
I like the safety wire on the blade bolts, it's been awhile since I had to wire anything and that is a pleasant reminder of the old days.

  2. I had a buddy in college who was a Marine helicopter mechanic. He'd fix 'em, but he would not fly in 'em.

  3. Copious use of torque-seal. Safety wire correct, lots of cotter pins bent correctly. Looks like it's nearly done by the book, with a good TI to verify.

  4. The group that designed it, can't think like 'normal' people, the people that put design to application...dittto. Then there's the poor mechanic...imagine what it does to him when they say FIX IT.

  5. And all of it maintained and (and largely flown) by a bunch of kids, average age under 25. Amazing.

  9. I ran across an old P-3 crewmate that had transferred to one of the Navy's aircraft ferry squadrons. He was training on the H-3 and said his instructor had told him that "When you can't climb to the rotor hub because of the hydraulic leaks then the bird is Down."
