    1. You'll take it somewhere else too when you start filling up every other day.

    1. I don’t think so; 4WD has a solid front axle.

    2. King pin twin I beam. You could get it close but there was that truck that would dial in for a sweat spot of a ride, I had that with a 72 F100. Power nothin but where it counted.

  3. Easier to work on by yourself

  4. The 86 Ford van I had came with a terrible turning radius, I've noticed modern Fords still having that when they make a U turn at a stop light.
I'd have to give some thought to that truck just because of the three point turn it took for me to get that van around a hair pin turn going down a mountain in Oregon once.
I know, picky picky picky... It is a beautiful truck!

  6. Ford Highboy Crew Cab. Nice! Perfect for family camping trips.
    I believe that's a '77 year model.
You have great taste in old pickups, CW.

    3. Thanks, Elmo. Before I retire, I hope to find a nice one to keep and work on.

  7. Borrowed one of those to move stuff a couple hundred miles. It got about 4 mpg. I gave it back before I got out of town, and went and rented a trailer for my little car.

  8. I had a 77 F250 4X4. This is a 72. The 77 was the best truck I ever owned.

  10. Had a 1998 Ford F-250 Crew Cab Turbo diesel. It had two independent fuel tanks that you could switch between from the cab. I loved that truck.

  11. The diesel got about 17 mpg, 12 mpg when towing a load.

  12. Neighbor has one, 460/C6. Competition orange. Looks to be the size of an aircraft carrier parked next to my T bucket. :)

  13. I have a 76 250 highboy with straight 6. Pulls like a beast; gets 14mpg. Doesn't go fast - 65 is pushing it - but it doesn't stop unless I want it to. Good for pulling new 4x4s out of trouble.

  14. Had a '76 F250. Gas hog but was great packing it up with friends and going to the beach or drive-ins.
