And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Well, my wife of 41 years is a long term classic rocker like me, and the rig I described is in my office-workshop which is in a detached building 60' from the house.
Frankly, every Christmas she struggles trying to come up with things to gift me and she can't used to the idea that I really don't want anything. When I do want something I just buy it and get it over with.
My wife gave me a set last Christmas and I still haven't taken them out of the box.

When I listen to toonage I do so through (4) Pioneer HPM 100 speakers (silver blow-holes) connected to a Pioneer SX1250 receiver.
The way toons were meant to be heard.
Perhaps your wife was trying to tell you that she doesn't share your taste in music and was hoping for a bit of peace and quiet!

i'm sure they are nice but i'm too cheap to shell out $200 for a set of headphones...
