And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Never have been a beer fan and my dad gave my brother and me a cigar each, lit it and told us to run around the barn a few times. We tried. I am 79 years old and have never smoked a pack of cigarettes in my life!
Grew up in Texas next door to some Cajuns. One day around Christmas when I was about 12 and the rest of the neighborhood gang was in that age range hanging around in their garage, their Uncle named "Uncle Junior" who was visiting from someplace called "Nawlins" stepped out and said "You boys want a beer?" We said yes. An ice cold Lone Star was my first whole beer.
Too funny!!!

ReplyDeleteLove to see a pic of them today- I entered 9th grade in 1970, so these kids would have been just a bit younger, but maybe on the same bus.
