Commission Earned

  1. Pro's: it's cheap. Cons: gasoline only, very low power, short run time at full load. Note the claim: 14 hours at 25% load. That's 800 watts folks. It'll power a fridge for half a day. That's it. For $300. For another 100-150, you can get something that'll run on propane or gasoline with at least twice the gasoline power rating (50% load).
    Check out Wen generators.
Must-have list for a useful generator: 5000 watts; dual fuel (gas goes bad in 90 days, propane stores forever); 120/240 outlets (2, 20A circuits); electric start (5000 watts = 10 hp minimum, most people can NOT pull start 10 hp); at least 10 hrs at half load gasoline capacity; low oil sensor; wheel kit. Things you don't need: CO sensor; inverter style (yeah, nice, but oversold and expensive); low voltage outlets, complicated controls and readouts (you'll never look).

    1. I thought the "inverter" gensets are quieter. The noise level is important!
