Particularly effective if the honey comes from your locality, good for colds and other ailments. We try and have 4 quarts min on hand over winter to last till first nectar flow. Started not only to get rather expensive to buy local honey, but to just find enough, took to having a hive at the house. Great for the garden, we get a lot more veggies with our own hive, flowers do wonderful. A line of tulip poplars on our land's border produces the best tasting honey we ever tried. We planted a patch of yellow clover, needs a full season to get going, local farmer suggested we plant it. Said it is a too nectar plant. You will have every kind of pollinator insect around on it from spring to late fall, so far exactly what he told us.
