And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? You're thinking of the British F4 Phantoms which had RR Speys in a staggered mounting to fit inside the fuselage. The Harrier uses the slightly larger Pegasus. The Royal Navy invented the ski jump deck for the Harrier so it can take off with a greater load. The USMC has stuck to traditional flat tops. Al_in_Ottawa
That kind of looks its a Brit Harrier, they had that cut down raw look about them.

The USMC developed the Harrier, including a new wing, and following those developments the performance and capability were greatly enhanced.
