Got Bluegills?

  1. I don’t know what I like better, catching them or eating them. Fry them whole in cornmeal and eat the tail fin too.

    3. Yes! Nice and crunchy! The tail fin is the best part. On bass, too, both small- and largemouth. Yum!

  2. Filet them and fry them. Eat them as you cook, just like potato chips.

  3. That's all the filets he's gonna cut. Get rid of that head, descale, gut and fry the rest.

  4. There's a little lake I know of out the National Forest that is currently swarming with small bluegill about 2" long. I think they had a real good hatching or maybe the forest service stocked it but I have high hope for this spring. The bigger ones give you a good run an an ultralight rig with 4 lb test.

  5. If bluegill grew to 50 pounds, nothing would be safe in the water, including humans.
