  2. The Pig n' Whistle was, briefly, a bar in Bloomington. Always wondered where they got the name.

The phrase "pig and whistle" is of English origin, dating back to Shakespeare's time, but its meaning is uncertain.[11] One source claims that the restaurant name originates from two Old English words, piggin, a lead mug, and wassail, a wine associated with the Yuletide season.[8]

  4. I'd always heard that Pig 'n' Whistle was used in UK to denote what we here would call a dive bar
