Might be worth the money

  1. It has a sheet metal bed. It's going to flex under any type of pressure thereby ruining your work. You need a cast iron bed or nothing.

  2. 60 years later, my favorite High School class was wood shop. The lathe was my favorite. I just never had the room for one. Maybe in my next life.

  3. Surprised to see that, actually - all my Grizzly stuff is solid cast iron and very heavy.

  4. In a month or so I'm going to get a Grizzly lathe but not this one.
    Right up front, the motor placement prohibits the size of the turning.
    Sheet metal bed and stand are not your friend.
    Hint, get the cheaper Wen you had on here recently and use it for a year to see what you really want and learn how to know what a decent lathe entails.
