And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
My cousin John had a '51 but it wasn't like that. It was a normal two-wheel drive pickup. I moved in that thing several times back in my single years in the 60's. Last time i visited him he still had it. He died recently and I guess he didn't leave it to me.
One thing to be aware of when motoring with an open cowl vent like that: The possibility exists that a yellow jacket might get shoved through the screen on the vent at speed and if you're wearing loose fitting jeans he might fly up them and get even with you for having sucked him up. Ask me how I know.
In my particular case I believe the yellowjacket in question had recently dined on a dead rattlesnake. It wasn't a pleasant experience.
…in a heartbeat!

ReplyDeleteOf course I mean the truck!
Those trucks were built for work, not the open highway.
ReplyDeleteAnybody who objects to following that beautiful rare rig at 50 to 55 miles an hour needs to slow down and smell the roses anyway.
