And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Friendly Natives and Oil. They go together in the world of advertising.
Lately I've been rereading AOPA mags from the mid-60s. In 1966, a new C-172 for just under $10,000. A turbo 206 for just under $30,000. VHF, DME, ADF included. Three axis A/P slaved to the Omni for just over $2,000 installed.
Cessna advertised that the turbo would pay for itself in 1,000 hours. Reduce operating costs by 20%. Faster airspeed = less flight hours. Save the cost of two annuals.
$200 at overhaul….I’m crackin’ up! These days it’ll cost that just for the oil.
