And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Situational awareness. As a cyclist or a pedestrian, i try to make eye contact with potential hazards. Cyclist shoulda been on binders/high alert just seeing the truck at speed. He/she was actually looking the other way at the critical time.
I was wondering why the truck driver didn't correct for the second swerve. Turns out he wasn't strapped in. The impact throws him into the passenger side, and holding the wheel corrected for the car impact, but he was out of reach to correct the second one.
Truck had the 'yield' but I didn't see much braking, except that first dip. I wonder why he didn't swerve right instead. Cyclist is a lucky guy.
