And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The two truck towing the pickup on its roof reminds of a night driving our winter beaters on the back roads of Ottawa County, in Michigan in the late 70s. We'd drive 'em into the sides of the snow backs on the back roads and see how sideways we could get. One friend got way sideways and flipped onto his roof. We borrowed one of the farm boys dad's tractors and dragged it back to his house on its roof, righted it with the farm forklift, and went back out on the road to try it again. Beers were involved.
The passengers in the greyhound bus got their monies worth with those power slides. Prolly none of them will never think about complaining bout slo poke drivers after that.
That picture with the cruise ship in the background is from St. Lucia, the Pitons are shown. The small hotel is rather famous, each of the rooms is cabana-like but with no fourth wall, just an opening toward the west. The cabanas are artfully arranged on the mountainside so that each one has complete privacy in spite of the wall's absence. The views are breathtaking, as one can see. It's a favorite haunt of rockers.
That first VW looks like the '59 had, double doors on both sides and the mighty 36hp engine! I sold it before I went in the Coast Guard in '76.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the lowered VWs like that single cab, sad to see that done to a classic design.

ReplyDeleteIf it's possible I would say many over the top road shots today
ReplyDeleteYes, this is a good one!
DeleteNice VW barn door panel but the single cab transporter could use some loving. The barn door panels are way up there in price now.
