And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Yup, add this into Spanish rice after draining out a bit of original boil water. Yum !
ReplyDeleteSlap that gurl! LOL You can NEVER have enough of a good thing. We have at least a case of the stuff on hand at all times but....not the Rotel brand. Nope. I buy the Walmart brand, when tastes identical, for less money. I use the stuff in everything. There is an open can in the fridge right now, with a sandwich bag over it to keep from drying out. Last night I made an egg sando for supper and I doled a couple big spoonfuls onto the egg while it was cooking. Dawgeez! Couple squirts of Franks hot sauce. WoW! Hit's the spot everytime. So yes, stock up, you can't have too much.
ReplyDelete$11.88 shipped with prime is not a bad deal at all. Think I'm gonna order 2 cases. Maybe 4.
ReplyDeleteThe Fire Roasted version is over the top!
ReplyDeleteA "must have" for any pot of chili.
Absolutely Fire roasted!
DeleteRegular version has some heat. Gotta have some zing. Been using this for years. $5.48 ($8.25 at Amazon) per 8 cans at Sam's Club. Probably use at least a can every week. I keep several cases on hand. :-)
ReplyDelete$5.48 for eight cans at Sam's..
ReplyDeletefree shipping with Advantage membership
1 10oz can Rotels ("Fire Roasted" is my preferred)
ReplyDelete1 Tbls Chili powder of choice (I prefer Chimayo) or smoked paprika
1 Tbls Mexican Oregano (NOT Italian)
1/2 tsp Garlic powder
1 tsp Cumin
Fresh cilantro and diced onion to taste
"A PINCH" of salt to taste.
Instant salsa that goes with almost everything.
You're welcome.
FishStyx,Thank You for the "instant salsa" recipe. It never occurred to me! Will try soonest.
ReplyDeleteA frequent guest in the kitchen cupboard going back forty-plus years. Years ago used it as prime ingredient in chili con queso. Now most frequently use a can or two when making a batch of chili.
Rotel has wisely adjusted the blend to suit changing tastes. Store brands work well enough but the original is reliable.
Usta pick up a couple cases for in-laws in Florida when I traveled between Home and Key West. Gonna hafta try the Wally World version.
ReplyDeleteFavorite around here too
ReplyDeleteGrowing up in suburban Dallas in the 60's, it was almost mandatory to mix a can of Rotels with a box of velvet a cheese in a double boiler and melt it all together for a party dip kinda like chili con queso, as anon mentioned. I just used a can of Rotels along with several cans of green chilis in a big batch of cowboy beef stew..
