  1. just can't understand why you'd want to ruin the taste with chunks of salmon; it would be like cooking with a bulb of garlic - it overpowers everything

    1. Indeed Ciopinno rocks! I wing it with a lazy man’s version using frozen mixed seafood and a seasoned Italian tomato base from the Latin store.
      Season’s made up it’s mind to get chilly and wet. Tonight’s supper was “Chupe” and a side of ceviche with sweet potato & fried yuca. Both are easy enough to fix and a variety of recipes are readily available on the ‘Net. Buen Provecho!
      “Peruvian Style Shrimp Chowder - Chupe de Camarones”; shrimp, diced potato, rice, short pieces corn-on-the-cob, green peas, red onion, poached eggs, queso fresco or feta cheese and evaporated milk. Season to suit with hot yellow pepper paste – “aji amarillo”, oregano, garlic and salt & pepper.
