Not sure I like that. Seems the flies and meat bees would have a field day.

  2. Man, wasting all that good meat juice. I'd put a pan under it, or cook it in a Dutch Oven.

  4. That photo indicates to me that it is too cold for mosquitos or bees. Note the coat the fellow is wearing.

  5. At a town name Idar Oberstein in Germany they hung a grate over the fire on about ten feet of chain. raise or lower the chain to adjust the heat, nudge the grate with a little spin to grill evenly. Pull the grate over to the side to add, flip or remove.

    On the farm I out together 3-4 of these with replacement grills, chain and tripods of native lumber, so that after clearing brush on the back 40 or taking a break with a fire in the evening I can grill over the coals.
