And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I had some. 2 problems besides the heavy part. If you preload em the elastic bands go hard and brittle, then they break. That buckle is piss poor for anything with weight or tension as it will unsnap spontaneously and at the wrong time. I cut all the junk off and kept the ballistic strapping for some other future purpose. When I first got em I loaded them up and put em on Mexican bandito style - criss-crossed on my chest. Yes, considerable weight.
I have used something like this for defensive shotgun classes - they are really belts, not bandoliers (although they can be slung across a shoulder). I like the positioning as a belt and use it as a secondary supply of shells to replace the ones on the sidesaddle. Every defensive shotgun should have a side saddle (I like velcro attached ones better) or a butt cuff since you're probably not going to have time to grab anything other than the gun in case of a home invasion, so you need to have extra ammo on the gun. Ghostsniper is correct in that the elastic will deteriorate - mine grow loose if left with shells loaded in the loops. I've not had problems with the buckle, but see where that could be an issue. I like the shotgun ammo belts from The Wilderness the best, but they are a lot more expensive but are also a lot heavier duty.
By my count, 50 rounds. Flippin' heavy.

ReplyDeleteI use a utility belt mounted grenade pouch. It holds about this amount of 12 gauge 00-Buck and it's easier than trying to pluck 'em out of a belt.
