And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
And now a little closer to home, the La Soufrière crater on St. Vincent (Windward Islands, Caribbean) has come back to life, requiring evacuations. Just to the north about 5 islands up the chain is Monserrat, which still bears the scars of ongoing volcanic activity on the southern half of the island, which was evacuated years ago.
You get up in the morning, look outside and see that. You just know it's going to be one of those days....
