And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
These Grumman Goose were flown by the two air lines between the mainland and Catalina Island until 1976. They were called: "Hope" (Catalina Air) and "Kamikazi" (Channel Air) by those of us who rode them.
Here in good old NZ we had a small fleet of Grumman Widgeons, servicing mail and supplies to outlying islands in The Hauraki Gulf. Long gone now, but I was lucky enough to have flown in them a number of times on the "mail run". They looked just like this one, just a little smaller (less passengers?)
