I believe that was one of the bearings for the Project Azorian recovery of the K-129 submarine.
it may be a triple slipper spherical roller bearing for one hell of a drive shaft...

To expand on my previous comment, here is a link to Glomar Explorer, which was the ship that actually did the lift. The bearing was part of the gimbal assembly, allowing the ship to pitch & roll on the surface while maintaining a fixed position on the lift. The bearing picture is on page 2-20.
