The House of Representatives has voted to block funds for the Justice Department if that money is used to sue states because of their laws to enforce immigration statutes.

This is specifically aimed at the Alabama statutes addressing illegal immigrants.  Notice that the unemployment rate in Alabama is falling, as compared to other states who rely on the federal government to enforce the law.  Part of the reason for that is jobs are opening up to citizens when the illegals are made to leave.   In this economic environment, there is simply no reason to allow foreigners who purposely come here illegally to take jobs away from Americans.  The Republicans should make this point vigorously in their campaign.
