How bad is the air pollution in China?  Turns out it's pretty bad.

PM2.5 is the smallest size of particle measured, and the most dangerous because it can go deep into a person's lungs.  It stands for 2.5 microns, and a level of 10 or above is considered dangerous.

Using satillites to measure air pollution, this map for China was made to show the problem.  Notice how much of the country's industrial heartland has a massive amount of pollution, and that doesn't even count days where the air pollution spikes higher.

Bad news for the average Chinese Joe, indeed, as their government doesn't care a bit about the average health of it's citizens, only how much wealth each can generate.
