And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

ᴅᴇʙʙɪᴇ ʜᴀʀʀʏ New York City, December 1975, by Roberta Bayley. 1975!
So intensely photogenic. I think she was an instant icon if nothing else, but her voice was wonderful, so uniquely expressive bawling out into the FM airwaves, you knew instantly it was Debbie.
Best-looking rap artist of the 1980s.
ReplyDeleteI remember 1975.
ReplyDeleteSaw Blondie about a decade ago. Great show. Small venue. She hasn't lost it a bit (ok...looks for sure).
ReplyDeleteI worked a Sara Lee bread commercial at the Puck Building in NYC she acted in, c. 1988.
ReplyDeleteI remember you made this comment after another Debbie Harry post some time ago - and it made me look up the commercial. Thanks!
